margin: 0px; min-height: 21px;"><span style="font-family: verdana;">Together with Morten Okbo (writer) the art project "Barnens Röster" (in English: "Children's Voices"), previously during project "The 'little' Swedish Assignment", has been concluded for the municipality of Oskarshamn, Sweden.</span></p><p class="p1" style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: auto; line-height: normal; margin: 0px;"><span class="s1"><span style="font-family: verdana;">The project takes its overall, political point of departure in a municipality which truly wants to be the children's municipality, which adheres to a view of children, where children are unique, equal individuals, where the children's 'voice' is heard fully and equally, and where the same children thereby experience that the place in a broad sense, the place in which they live, is also THEIR place. Hence the project's title "Barnens Röster". At the same time, the project rests on a belief that an interaction between children's visual development and the feedback of an adult artist and an adult writer together is a development laboratory and a stimulating space for formation and community and new ideas, new actions and new poetry.</span></span></p><p class="p2" style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: auto; font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal; margin: 0px; min-height: 21px;"><span style="font-family: verdana;"><span class="s1"></span><br /></span></p><p class="p1" style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: auto; font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal; margin: 0px;"><span class="s1"><span style="font-family: verdana;">- Over a period of 10 days, all of the municipality's 20 pre-schools (a Swedish hybrid between kindergarten and after-school center for the schools' youngest classes) has been visited by us. At each of the preschools, we have 4-5 children aged 5-6 sitting on the floor around a large sheet of paper 100 x 140 cm. With a given number of colors (oil chalk and colored pencils) and based on a specific theme/word that extends beyond the preschool's own domain - and in sessions of 30-45 minutes - the children have started drawing and painting. A starting word/a theme could be: "It's snowing", "We're on our own island", "We're doing a show", "We're cooking", "We're by the sea". For each theme, which everyone points to in addition to the pre-school domain, we have asked further questions along the way, in the direction of: What can we do when it snows?, what do we want to be on our island? etc.</span></span></p><p class="p2" style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: auto; font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal; margin: 0px; min-height: 21px;"><span style="font-family: verdana;"><span class="s1"></span><br /></span></p><p class="p1" style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: auto; font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal; margin: 0px;"><span class="s1"><span style="font-family: verdana;">The artist has not drawn in these 20 sessions. The artist has simply asked the questions, even the very small questions during the drawing process: "What kind of thing are you drawing there?", "Okay, a high-rise building, should it be included in the performance?" “And that's your mother at the very top, you say? "And she's afraid of heights?" "So she dares anyway?" "Because she has you with her". At all sessions, the author also talked to, but primarily noted (on the computer) what was happening around the paper and what was being said.</span></span></p><p class="p1" style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: auto; font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal; margin: 0px;"><span class="s1"><span style="font-family: verdana;">In these sessions, it has been the children alone who speak with their hands and their words along the way. Every session with this approach has been completely unpredictable. The result is the same.</span></span></p><p class="p2" style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: auto; font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal; margin: 0px; min-height: 21px;"><span style="font-family: verdana;"><span class="s1"></span><br /></span></p><p class="p1" style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: auto; font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal; margin: 0px;"><span class="s1"><span style="font-family: verdana;">- The 'material' raw material after the 20 sessions has been 20 sheets of 100 x 140 cm with colored pencils and oil chalk, as well as the material for a number of associated texts from the same 20 sessions which describe what happened and what was said along the way. Both parts – the contents of the sheets and the material for the texts – we have basically regarded as a goldmine. A description of the Swedish children, their woes and fortunes, their immediate wishes. We can do whatever we want. And of course we make the world's largest book, 100 x 140 cm, 21 sheets, 21 pre schools, also for exhibition. And of course </span><span class="s2" style="font-style: italic;">with</span><span class="s1"> the children.</span></span></div><div style="text-align: left;"><span style="font-family: verdana;"><span class="s1"><br /></span></span><span style="font-family: verdana;"><span class="s1">Here is a sheet on it, where we gave them what is called a stutsmatta in Swedish, which is a trampoline. And then there was the jump! The most liberated thing you can do. The biggest opponent to anything that tasts of structure and now you have to to do. And as an almost mild, non violent, cultural activism, including a raised teasing index finger to the adults, they brought in 'fröken', as all children throughout Sweden call the educators regardless of whether they are female or male. The lady is standing on the lower mat on the right.<br /></span></span><span style="font-family: verdana;"><span class="s1">The big brown-beige thing that could look like a bell is another thing that you don't normally associate with flying around on a rug. Again the children, who in the inscrutable wildness of the game play it all a trick: It is the preschool (the one they go to) - that is, the entire preschool as a building, incl. equipment and good hand hygiene.</span></span></div><div style="text-align: left;"><span style="font-family: verdana;"><span class="s1"><br /></span></span><span style="font-family: verdana;"><span class="s1">Yes, the Swedish children are doing well.</span></span></div><p class="p2" style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: auto; font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal; margin: 0px; min-height: 24.4px;"><span class="s1" style="font-family: UICTFontTextStyleBody;"></span></p><p class="p2" style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: auto; font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal; margin: 0px; min-height: 24.4px;"><span class="s1" style="font-family: UICTFontTextStyleBody; font-size: 18.57px;"></span></p></div>perpetrihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00860183870682883500noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-195616453314125054.post-64714755711540980882022-09-24T05:31:00.010-07:002022-09-24T22:52:54.161-07:00The Woods – Wallpainting project – August 2022<p><br /></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgE0A2bGTZrGZchM4cEPyjot0ABgtCUMQTtyaPZ4OPGxuqK1wtkmnJ4cdfHO2vDOqnTkzCnXt--J6b7jVyRQTKFegiH1IWCHA_ccmCtgamiKghnRMXROclJ_n4dCfgs0Kj9MaETL9C0OcJBeOhy8rzVYy-zuCmcXjUPJ3YSTGfuI1eqh7_3dMcWiyYD/s4096/ECBDAC2A-ED62-47BA-9D73-0A8B26DFC0FA.jpeg" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2728" data-original-width="4096" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgE0A2bGTZrGZchM4cEPyjot0ABgtCUMQTtyaPZ4OPGxuqK1wtkmnJ4cdfHO2vDOqnTkzCnXt--J6b7jVyRQTKFegiH1IWCHA_ccmCtgamiKghnRMXROclJ_n4dCfgs0Kj9MaETL9C0OcJBeOhy8rzVYy-zuCmcXjUPJ3YSTGfuI1eqh7_3dMcWiyYD/s16000/ECBDAC2A-ED62-47BA-9D73-0A8B26DFC0FA.jpeg" /></a></div><br /><p><br /></p><div><span class="s1"><span style="font-family: verdana;">.</span></span></div><div><span class="s1"><span style="font-family: verdana;">The idea is that you come walking in the corridor; you are heading towards the canteen, towards classrooms, etc., you walk like a lis' along, and THEN, at this section of the corridor, a path presents itself (suddenly), or rather a meshwork of paths (with a main path however), which runs out into the forest, under tree crowns, meandering paths, across slightly hilly forest floor, perpendicular to the footpath, away from the footpath. Magical, luminous path courses on soft forest floor.</span></span></div><div><span style="font-family: verdana;"><br /></span><span class="s1"><span style="font-family: verdana;">The paths can be a picture of our collective paths (that's how I see it), this about what we choose, where we go, even just today, where we steer towards... the existential. Which applies both on a Tuesday in a given place and in our whole life.</span></span><br /><span class="s1"><span style="font-family: verdana;">The motif of the forest and the paths is also a break, a kind of peace and a world you (just) follow into. A sideways glance.</span></span><br /><span class="s1"><span style="font-family: verdana;">And a kind of time-influenced tribute to Nature.</span></span></div><div><span style="font-family: verdana;"><br /></span><span class="s1"><span style="font-family: verdana;">And if you want, the wallpainting is also a spatial gimmick/illusion: As if the long corridor in this place actually has an opening directly into the landscape/nature. You 'fall'/'are being sucked' out of the corridor.</span></span></div><div><span style="font-family: verdana;"><br /></span><span class="s1"><span style="font-family: verdana;">Somewhere in the forest, somewhere on the slightly hilly forest floor (which, by the way, waves and wobbles compared to the flat floor surfaces of the actual corridor, which I think is funny) a small situation is put into play. It has not been drawn on yet, but we think that in terms of surface it should not take up much space; that way we keep things calm. The situation, the small scene in the big scene, must have a quiet, understated weight.</span></span></div><p class="p2" style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: auto; font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal; margin: 0px; min-height: 24.4px;"><span style="font-family: verdana;"><span class="s1"></span></span></p><p class="p2" style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: auto; font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal; margin: 0px; min-height: 24.4px;"><span style="font-family: verdana;"><span class="s1"></span></span></p><p class="p2" style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: auto; font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal; margin: 0px; min-height: 24.4px;"><span style="font-family: verdana;"><span class="s1" style="font-size: 18.57px;"></span></span></p>perpetrihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00860183870682883500noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-195616453314125054.post-360032416941264142022-09-22T05:48:00.002-07:002022-09-24T06:41:08.952-07:00The Public Transportation Project – Art Print Series – August 2022<p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhkb6XzGl0n__fI5XGM0wMc8p5SD7FnUqcQXHlVxqpPwaT2Inx10MRHosgQDxv1Yy_We6FpkA4nclnyQdYVEg9UN0ZHgz34r8bbJkhJcYmGm1BFvKKLAi-LDxSffaV8yjZJtuaMA4ksVpaksNt_uicRFDwKF_yO_yMwisqur87VR321-hepylAWmAw8/s4857/FF5BA1A3-3D23-437C-9AD4-3B66D56DCA27.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="3238" data-original-width="4857" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhkb6XzGl0n__fI5XGM0wMc8p5SD7FnUqcQXHlVxqpPwaT2Inx10MRHosgQDxv1Yy_We6FpkA4nclnyQdYVEg9UN0ZHgz34r8bbJkhJcYmGm1BFvKKLAi-LDxSffaV8yjZJtuaMA4ksVpaksNt_uicRFDwKF_yO_yMwisqur87VR321-hepylAWmAw8/s16000/FF5BA1A3-3D23-437C-9AD4-3B66D56DCA27.jpeg" /></a></div><div><br /></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><span style="font-family: verdana;">This art series assumes that public transport should work with an existential delicacy and finesse far greater than is the case. We think we’ve gotten there, pouring 4 times the normal amount of color onto the paper. ‘The Kitchen Series’ wants to portray, through quite lovingly meant stereotypes, what is truly Italian, specifically Danish, truly French.</span></div><div style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: auto;"><span style="font-family: verdana;"><br /></span></div><div style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: auto;"><span style="font-family: verdana;">In the quiet zone (but not that dark after all) you’ll find ‘The Italian Views’. We’ll continue to work with deep colors and Europe as an endless field of poetry and diversity.</span></div><div style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: auto;"><span style="font-family: verdana;"><br /></span></div><div style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: auto;"><span><span style="font-family: verdana;">Per Petri Store is tiny </span><span style="font-family: verdana;">which we regard as a quality. High</span><span style="font-family: verdana;"> standards on printing quality means giclée quality, carefully picked types of paper for each collection and nerdedly bypassed software as to increase amount of ink on the paper surface. Printing work is done solely and closely together with the excellent small printing crew from Plotteriet, Aarhus, Denmark.</span></span></div><div style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: auto;"><span style="font-family: verdana;"><br /></span></div><div style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: auto;"><span style="font-family: verdana;">Each art print is printed and cut on demand and signed with an embossed stamp.</span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhu2DPiQoPxh9WuiBpKM9AQv-nwuYsoEe3d7102Tg-nglgQM1bKnToQs8waozAThMKVDvxhR8-b1V5HxFWjJuoOQ6jBZ8a9NnP8ZiMYRChEw_568li5vYeae5K3opxbC4V3CrtJKxoMYaYweS_V9qMeQD62Z8OWGeewsZ2029iaV14ROym4TZr4yMeD/s10013/993DC0AA-C32A-423D-8C63-6563AAEFCCC0.png" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><br /></a></div>perpetrihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00860183870682883500noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-195616453314125054.post-5857342130688637542022-02-01T05:03:00.007-08:002022-02-02T01:04:08.631-08:00“The Tranströmer Suite” – depictions of Nature – January 2022<p><br /></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEjqGLCXiQTFkTr8hUAnMvuSpBU_puqCUL8gNTBrNkLIPkzOsiKqFHSXTqpmGsTebEmip_pGhT8GkctZRKi4O6dFNpxhuttQp8aHLMHMez9PvZ1GMiI6ent4vADPCwQ3lTIoZwdoHL74qvKBDX8KCPlTofgFP3AACARXCJP1QN-aPJVBH9pWUrR29f1W=s2790" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2004" data-original-width="2790" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEjqGLCXiQTFkTr8hUAnMvuSpBU_puqCUL8gNTBrNkLIPkzOsiKqFHSXTqpmGsTebEmip_pGhT8GkctZRKi4O6dFNpxhuttQp8aHLMHMez9PvZ1GMiI6ent4vADPCwQ3lTIoZwdoHL74qvKBDX8KCPlTofgFP3AACARXCJP1QN-aPJVBH9pWUrR29f1W=s16000" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEjticISmuLqsK_NbldXJxjNlTDXyD2LL80ilWes2AhjgRVA5vYqOfYoTNYZLNKI-Y06jT0D5CObFTCLMZepxInvRE3D8xgsQWKAWhF6Kd2_tu9cjNiV4n_FfYxawnCPLmSK9Axlg6HvH9OTRk6WMqjugLroOsdlMiC-poeW-vJF1LWa65xA1dh0lh45=s3824" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2783" data-original-width="3824" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEjticISmuLqsK_NbldXJxjNlTDXyD2LL80ilWes2AhjgRVA5vYqOfYoTNYZLNKI-Y06jT0D5CObFTCLMZepxInvRE3D8xgsQWKAWhF6Kd2_tu9cjNiV4n_FfYxawnCPLmSK9Axlg6HvH9OTRk6WMqjugLroOsdlMiC-poeW-vJF1LWa65xA1dh0lh45=s16000" /></a></div><br /><span style="font-family: verdana;"><br /></span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><span style="font-family: verdana;"><br /></span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><span style="font-family: verdana;">This is a project searching for the most quiet depictions of Nature. The principal takes a nap (just as it should be, now that the done is done), the French visiting professor looks on from his very own starting point and ‘Helge’ from ‘Facility’ as well, while the students with their incomparable energy head towards new horizons. A picture of the journey from educational institution on to working life, to new phases, to new chapters. Perhaps, in that sense, also a picture of the Journey of Life at all. <br /></span></span><span style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: 100%; background-color: white; caret-color: rgb(153, 153, 153); text-align: center; white-space: pre-line;"><span>So. All though almost cartoonish simple in style (the whole decoration series started out back in 2018 on that premise, so we have to stick with that), this eighth decoration is actually serious – and even melancholic. The table lamps they carry on board the boats and carefully (maybe even troublesome tumbling) take care of out on the water are thought of as the emblems of the heart, the meaning, the very core, the harmony between the world and your true innermost being, the fellowship with one another, the love (if I let it run free), the magic at all - that without , nothing really matters, the light we must carry in imperative form (gentle, gentle, troublesome, beautiful, quiet, tumultuous and magnificent) through it all. Something like that. </span></span></span></div><div style="text-align: left;"><span style="font-family: verdana;"><span style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: 100%; background-color: white; caret-color: rgb(153, 153, 153); text-align: center; white-space: pre-line;"><span><br /></span></span><span style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: 100%; background-color: white; caret-color: rgb(153, 153, 153); text-align: center; white-space: pre-line;"><span>I think it's beautiful (in the middle of the comic book aesthetic) as the boats rocking, full of zeal, sticking out towards the horizon line and eventually becoming small dots. The fragility. In my book – as stated above – almost melancholy. On the other hand, I also think that it's good that the Principal just breaks the onslaught of emotional flooding in his open camping chair (to the right). Just as I also think it's fun to see what it does to the motif when two birch trees, three students, a table lamp and a boat many times in the course of a day, and exactly in the middle of the overall motif - because they are painted on a door in the middle of the wall - goes up and in. A bit like in The Truman Show, where deep into the film it turns out that there is a door on the horizon. That you go in and out of the picture. </span></span></span></div><div style="text-align: left;"><span style="font-family: verdana;"><span style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: 100%; background-color: white; But with a twist from modernity. Modernity being like a tear - or a thin foil.</span></p><p><span style="font-family: verdana;">The excerpt here has been developed from one of three (giant) large drawings (originally made for three clients around Europe) that cultivate the classic (mountainous and rainy), central Europe - not without the weight that is so obvious (whether it is Veneto, Istria, Savoia, etc.) and the sadness there may appear to vibrate in the 'sculptures' of the buildings and under the eaves. </span></p><p><span style="font-family: verdana;">I have always been passionate about drawing. Letting the work grow solely through the lines.</span></p><p><span style="font-family: verdana;">Being now just as happy to let the colors shower over and in a way almost overpower the lines (I think the excerpt here is an example of that) I’m now reworking the three ‘classics’ as pre works and pre studies for new art prints and wall paintings ahead.</span></p><p><span style="font-family: verdana;">In the foreground of each of the large drawings (the excerpt below is from middle and background) modern people (us the travelers, us northerners, us with the veneration for, and the economy of, renovated, rustic, authentic country houses) are seen in varied, almost floating, transit scenes. At the top of the sky always an airplane. Heading from one distant promising place to another.</span></p><p><span style="font-family: verdana;">I'm aware that no place looks like this. Nowhere are the churches / cathedrals (as here) SO densely placed, and nowhere are the churches / cathedrals (as here) larger in extent than their villages / towns. It is an imaginary landscape. In my optics, I think this ‘displacement’ / ‘distortion’ - or more mildly, this transposition - reinforces the impression of Latin, static, statuary alluring weight. As a kind of silent commentary track to modernity, its speed and all its flux.</span></p>perpetrihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00860183870682883500noreply@blogger.com
